Judging Results
Medal / Award Gold
Judge 1 nice colour, very genenerous red and dark fruits, well handeled oak is obvs but sympathetic and long
Judge 2 resinous tarry oak on the nose, black pepper, mulberry and pomegrante. Lashings of red currant. Jubes. Hot tarmac. Palate is silky and plush, the tannins have a silty fleshy sort of texture. Some alcohol through the midpalate/finish but it dissipates quickly. A lovely wine - classy and sophisticated. Red licorice.
Judge 3 game / spice, hints of chacuterie, nice juicy red fruits, little swagger of oak there. polished but.
Associate Judge vanilla bean. tannins quite silky but a bit to much oak influence.
Associate Judge Red/red. Pencil shavings, cedar, dark currants.Concentrated and rich, currants, fine tannins supported bu the fruit. Lovely.
