Judging Results
Medal / Award
Judge 1 pale, passionfruit sweet ea fruit boilded sweets some rs on palate and alc. ok phenolic and a little grubby
Judge 2 odd, little pasty and attenuated, oily and alcoholic. touch overblown, lacking detail and freshness. phenolic.
Judge 3 Chemical/medicinal overtones - the fruit is harsh on the nose - where is the seduction? Palate is steely, but lacks the slatey minerality that powers and drives a fine sauvignon blanc. This is a modern, slick wine without any hint of fruit sweetness or plushness. This needs food to set it off.
Associate Judge lemon lime, gooseberry, unripe mango/pawpaw, grapefruit acid
Associate Judge Hard edge, so2 edge which dominates and makes hard to consume and want more. Phenolic finish.
