Medal / Award Bronze
Judge 1 Also quite spicy. A bit more oaky also, some box hedge. Just a bit empty smelling. And so too, the palate with seriously uppish acid (over adjusted, or picked too early?). Just a bit sour, but again: well worked tannins.
Judge 2 subdued nose, cherry lift develops, spice and pepper follow, warmth upfront, grainy, gravelly tannins lacks fruit concentration on midpalate, good tannin length
Judge 3 brooding dark forest fruits, cola, punching spice box, energetic, big wine. softly softly on the oak treatment, well done.
palate a little simple. fruit core is sound and boisterous but I'm looking for another layer and it's not coming. vine age?
Associate Judge Briary fruit but a bit closed dusty muted like but some nice earthiness. Red cherry fruit prominant tannins very dusty. Savoury but need time to mature. Acid a bit sharp
